Initially, Siwa was seen as a girl next door, and her outfits were very pink-coded, not to forget her trademark bow. However, with age, she started experimenting more with her looks, and her style shifted towards more of a gothic touch. But she used this very thing in her favor, something many couldn’t even wrap their heads around.

JoJo Siwa used to have a very colorful wardrobe during her younger Nickelodeon days. However, since 2021, the starlet entered into a more mature dress-up arena and ditched her pink outfits for gowns. Not only her outfits, but even her hairstyles have gone through a huge change throughout the years.

This played a very pivotal role in her huge popularity on social media. But showcasing her marketing genius, the social media personality used this very thing in her favor and created a bolder and more attention-grabbing image of herself that she’s fully ready to monetize now.

During a recent interview with LADYGUNN, Siwa detailed why it is important for her to create a huge buzz with her outfits. She added:

We’re here at [New York] Fashion Week, even this with LADYGUNN; I was like, I am down, but we have to go somewhere with it. (Further) We can’t just do a cool photo shoot and hope for the best. It has to be like, what the f*ck is she wearing now? You know what I mean? It has to be what is the next Halloween costume.

As she spoke, her now-viral fuzzy black ball outfit designed by Christian Cowan – complete with hands-free theatrics and knee-high green monster boots, a striking piece caught everyone’s attention at the fashion show.

JoJo’s calculated choice to sit front row in such a statement look paid off, as her publicist soon read off headlines from WWD, New York Magazine, and EOnline the next day.

Demi Lovato has made a notable return to the Disney fold with her directorial debut, Child Star. This documentary, which premiered on September 17, delves into the trials and triumphs of growing up under the spotlight. Rather than focusing solely on Lovato’s own journey, the film offers a broader look by featuring intimate conversations with a range of former child stars.

The lineup includes Drew Barrymore, JoJo Siwa, Kenan Thompson, Christina Ricci, Raven-Symoné, and Alyson Stoner, Lovato’s co-star from Camp Rock. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Lovato added:

I’m so proud to make my directorial debut with this documentary that sheds light on the complexities of child stardom, a topic that is very close to my heart. I want to thank our cast for being so vulnerable with their stories and our contributors for sharing their knowledge to help push the conversation forward.

With a runtime of just over 90 minutes, Child Star is produced by Michael D. Ratner, who also directed Lovato’s previous documentary, Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil. The production team boasts names like Scooter Braun and Jen McDaniels, ensuring a rich blend of perspectives.

The documentary doesn’t just spotlight celebrities; it also includes activists, journalists, and other figures contributing to the conversation about the pressures of early fame.
