In the Joan Vassos’ starrer season, she came across a 60-year-old educator from Mission Viejo, California, Gil Ramirez. Despite the production running their own ‘thorough’ and ‘exhaustive’ background checks on the contestants, Ramirez was cast as one of the leads. While we don’t know what made the production cast him, PEOPLE recently discovered that he once had a temporary restraining order against him filed by an ex-girlfriend for ’emotional harassment.
In the documents obtained by PEOPLE, the ex claimed Ramirez contacted her repeatedly via phone, texts, or videos and showed up at her house and other places. While he was subjected to a temporary restraining order, it was dropped sometime after July and the case was dismissed without prejudice for lack of prosecution for lack of service.
