Not sure how to combat ‘September Slump?’

The folks over at Mission Connection surveyed 3,000 respondents to find the seasonal events Connecticut residents most look forward to as a way to lift their spirits.

The top choice by Nutmeggers was fall foliage viewing, according to a survey. Admiring the change in colors, whether its a drive through the countryside or a hike down a trail, ranked first for Connecticut residents. It is no surprise the state sees travelers swing by around this time every year.

In second was harvest festivals, according to Mission Connection. It is hard to beat fresh, locally grown- and sourced-produce and goods, whether its a bevy of apple varieties or seasonal desserts and dishes like pies and sweets. Even if you cannot make a festival, you are likely to have a farm nearby to shop at to get your fall fix.

Last up to help rise spirits, according to the survey, was an end of summer road trip. As Mission Connection puts it, “Whether it’s a scenic drive along the coast, a visit to a national park, or simply a journey to a favorite getaway spot, these road trips provide a sense of adventure and freedom that can help alleviate the stress of transitioning back to routine.”
