Georgia won’t start preparing for Alabama football until Thursday, but Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart already knows about Ryan Williams.
Smart was asked on the SEC coaches teleconference Wednesday about Williams, and Smart noted prep for the Crimson Tide hasn’t started yet with the game still a week and a half away. Georgia is working on itself first as well as other opponents. But Smart still had thoughts about Williams.
“I obviously know who Ryan is,” Smart said. “He’s extremely talented. A kid we recruited. He came over and saw us several times. He’s a delightful personality. He’s fun to be around and a great kid.”
Williams is a true freshman who has quickly become Alabama’s top receiving weapon for quarterback Jalen Milroe. Williams has caught 10 receptions for 285 yards and four touchdowns over three games.
No. 4 Alabama is set to face No. 1/2 Georgia on Saturday, Sept. 28 (6:30 p.m. CT, ESPN) at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
