IT’s now or never for Scotland in the Nations League.
Steve Clarke‘s men know they need to see out the win in Warsaw to stand any chance of finishing second in their League A group.
This seemed like a pipe dream last week.
But now it could actually be a reality.
The Tartan Army are currently 1-0 up in Poland which sees them leapfrog their opponents into third place.
But things could still change dramatically – in Scotland‘s favour as well.

Croatia are currently losing to Portugal in the other tie, which is more good news for the Scots.
That’s because Scotland could move up to second if another goal goes the way of Clarke’s side.
Scotland either need a second goal or Portugal to win by two or more goals to make a historic night for the national team.
There’s still plenty more to come in both games though.
But SunSport has all the details you need to know ahead of the big finishes in Warsaw and Zagreb.
What happens if Scotland finish second?
- Scotland would continue their Nations League campaign by qualifying for the two-legged quarter-final stage in March 2025.
- So in theory, the Dark Blues could WIN the Nations League – but that might be wishful thinking…
- They would be handed a dream Pot 1 place for the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.
What happens if Scotland finish third?
- Scotland would enter a relegation play-off against one of the teams finishing second in a League B group.
- It is a two-legged tie where the winners will secure a spot in League A, the losers will play the next campaign in League B.
- Scotland would drop to Pot 3 in World Cup qualifying.
What happens if we finish bottom of the table?
- Should the Poland game finish in a draw or a win in favour of the home nation then the Dark Blues will drop to fourth.
- Scotland would be in turn automatically relegated to League B.
