Who does Auburn football play next and what to know

Auburn got the “get right” win it needed in Week 3, bouncing back from a bad Week 2 loss to Cal.

It was also a good opportunity to ease new starting quarterback Hank Brown into the role before the rigors of Southeastern Conference play.

“He’ll be the starter next week and let’s see what he does as we step up another level of competition against SEC play,” Freeze said of Brown after the game.

Auburn (2-1) now prepares for Arkansas (2-1) to visit Jordan-Hare Stadium, beginning a stretch where the Tigers’ next games come against SEC opponents. The game is also the fourth of five straight home games to open the season for Auburn.

Arkansas enters the game coming off a 37-27 win over UAB. It wasn’t the prettiest performance for the Razorbacks, who trailed at times before pulling away in the second half.

The win over UAB came after a heartbreaking 39-31 loss to Oklahoma State in Week 2, a game in which Arkansas outgained the Cowboys 648-385. Arkansas now comes into the matchup with Auburn in a similar position to the Tigers, looking to start SEC play with a win.

The Razorbacks’ 2-1 start comes after going 4-8 (1-7) SEC last fall. Auburn won last season’s matchup 48-10.
