Tom Brady, the widely-renowned former professional football quarterback who rocked in the NFL for 23 seasons, is famous for gaining the spotlight not only for his professional life but for his personal life as well. Turns out, the handsome ex-National Football League star’s past relationships have been gaining quite a bit of light as of late.
Though the star hasn’t been in all that many confirmed relationships between the time he was professionally active – which notably started with his 199th drafting in the 2000 NFL draft – the two relationships he has been officially confirmed of being in have been with two supermodels. The first one was with Bridget Moynahan and the second was with Gisele Bündchen.
While the 47-year-old quarterback, who made sure to earn the reputation of being the National Football League’s biggest draft steal, has only been married once, he shares kids from both of his past relationships. This is because, while he did not wound up tying the knot with Moynahan, she still ended up being the mother of his eldest son, Jack.
Nonetheless, their relationship inevitably garnered a lot of attention and limelight, as the greatest quarterback of all time had already moved on from Moynahan with Bündchen when the former announced her pregnancy with his son. That said, here’s all you need to know about Bridget Moynahan, the actress cum former model who is also the mother of Brady’s first child.
Who is Bridget Moynahan?
Bridget Moynahan is an actress cum former model who has scored roles in quite a few star-studded projects throughout her three-and-a-half decade-long professional career. Over the years, she has been on the cover pages of quite a few famous magazines, the likes of which include Vogue, Elle, and Glamour.
What initially started as an unexpected modeling career for her at 18 eventually transformed into an acting one in 1999. This happened when she made her splash in the television industry by starring as the recurring character Natasha in HBO’s rom-com Sex and the City. Her film debut came with 2000’s Coyote Ugly.
Eventually, the 53-year-old went on to go from a star-studded model to one of the most sought-after actresses of all time. Some of the major pieces she has been credited with include Blue Bloods, John Wick (she played Mrs. Wick), and The Recruit, among others. And then there are all the headlines she gained when she revealed she was going to be the mother to Tom Brady‘s first child.
According to People, Moynahan started dating the NFL quarterback in 2004, and the pair’s happily-in-love relationship continued till late 2006. But while Brady moved on from her soon after with his now-ex-wife by December of that same year, it was revealed a few months later through Moynahan’s representative that she was more than three months pregnant with Brady’s kid.
Per People, February 2007 brought this news, and on 22 August 2007, Moynahan gave birth to their son, John “Jack” Edward Thomas Moynahan. While the parents were very excited about the pregnancy even though Brady was already in a relationship with Bündchen by that time, the NFL star also came clean about the challenging aspect of it all on The Howard Stern Show in 2020, saying (see People):
That was a very unique time … and it challenged me in a lot of ways, again, to grow up in a different way. It was very hard for my wife to think she fell in love with this guy, and then now this guy’s ex-girlfriend’s pregnant. And it was very challenging for my son’s mom, you know, because she didn’t envision that either.
Nonetheless, since then, both Moynahan and Brady have given their all to co-parent Jack together. Although he mostly grew up living with his mother, the pair ensured Jack had a close relationship with both Brady and his then-wife Bündchen. In an interview with More magazine in 2011, Moynahan shared the same, saying (via People):
My son has two loving parents and an extended family, whether it’s cousins or stepmothers or boyfriends. My son is surrounded by love.
Currently, Jack is 17 years old and has already kick-started his NFL career, following closely in his dad’s footsteps. As Brady shared in August 2021, Jack signed on as a ballboy for the Buccaneers at only 13, and both Brady and Moynahan couldn’t be more proud of him for all of it.
Jack Also Shares a Special Relationship With Gisele Bündchen
While Brady continued to spend his life with Gisele Bündchen, with whom he tied the knot in 2009, it seems like Jack also found a special place in his father’s now ex-wife’s life. Though she admitted it was challenging for her in the start when she found out that the ex of the guy she was dating was going to become the mother of his son, Bündchen eventually made peace with it all.
On CBS This Morning in 2015, she came clean about how much Jack had gone on to mean to her, saying, “I think, now, eight years later, I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter bonus child.” In February 2020, Bündchen corrected a fan on her Instagram (see clip on People) to call herself a ‘bonus mom’ when talking about Jack, claiming, “I feel like it’s a blessing in my life. I feel so lucky that I got to have an extra wonderful little angel in my life.”
If that wasn’t all, the supermodel also revealed that Jack’s presence in her life “awakened” her desire to become a mom. She told Vanity Fair in 2023, “Jack came into our lives and I felt so blessed. I’ve always dreamed of being a mom, but I think that happened a little faster than I thought, because now I have this beautiful little angel that I get to care for and love.”
Additionally, Jack also seems to share a special brother-sister relationship with his other siblings from his ‘bonus mom’, as evident from all the pictures Brady shares of the trio via his Instagram. This includes Benjamin, Bündchen’s first child born two years after Jack in 2009, and Vivian, who was born in 2012. To say the least, Jack most certainly seems to have found a happy, joint family.
Currently, Bridget Moynahan is Married to Andrew Frankel
Around nine years after her split with Brady, eight years after Jack’s birth, and six years after Brady’s marriage to Gisele Bündchen, Bridget Moynahan finally found eternal love with businessman Andrew Frankel, with whom she tied the knot in October 2015 in an intimate ceremony in the Hamptons, New York, shared on her Instagram.
As per an insider source’s revelation to People, Frankel is “from New York and is Co-President of Stuart Frankel and Co., a Wall Street institutional brokerage firm.” The pair seems to have reportedly met each other “through a friend,” and after things seemed right, they decided to say “I do” to each other to spend the rest of their lives together.
According to 18Doors, both Moynahan and Frankel have blended their families, and now the former serves as a mom to not only Jack but to her current husband’s three older boys as well. And as is especially evident from all the updates Moynahan shares through her social media and in interviews, the pair really does seem to be spending their happily ever after together.

While Moynahan is reveling in her happily ever after with her current husband, Tom Brady has faced a recent fallout with his first and only wife, Gisele Bündchen. After over 13 years of marriage, the pair announced through their Instagram that they had finalized their divorce in October 2022 (see X).
That said, since their divorce, Brady seems to have currently caught a liking to Irina Shayk, yet another former Victoria’s Secret model, just like his ex-wife, as per TMZ, People, and US Weekly. Bündchen, in the meanwhile, seems to currently be happily in love with jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente (per Who).
