Firefighters searching a building that had caught fire Tuesday evening found a dead woman inside, according to a Baltimore City Fire Department spokesperson.
The cause of the woman’s death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, fire department Chief Roman Clark said, adding that investigators were on the scene of the fire Tuesday night determining the cause of the blaze.
The fire department was dispatched to the 400 block of N. East Avenue shortly after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Clark said. There, fire and smoke was showing from the top of a two-story dwelling which appeared to be vacant.
After extinguishing the blaze, firefighters conducted a search of the building and found the woman, who was declared dead at the scene.
