Woman rescued from flooding in north Alabama

A woman was rescued from rising flood waters on Saturday in Lawrence County.

The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office said its Swift Water Rescue Team helped the woman on County Road 167 in Moulton.

In a Facebook post, the sheriff’s office shared images of a woman walking through flood waters with an officer along a rope line.

“As the sun sets for the day, Sheriff Sanders would like to urge citizens to remain vigilant throughout the night,” the post stated. “Flooded roadways will be hard to spot at night.”

Heavy rain continued in north Alabama Saturday evening.

Flood watches are in effect until Sunday across the state, following Hurricane Francine, a Category 2 storm that hit Louisiana on Wednesday.

The storm impacted much of the Alabama on Saturday.
