An investigation is underway after a woman’s body was found in northern Jefferson County.
Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched just after 7 p.m. Sunday to a report of a body found in the 7300 block of Coleman Road in Morris.
Deputies met with a person who told them there was a body at the railroad crossing near Morris Majestic Road. That’s where the woman was found, said sheriff’s spokesman Henry Irby.
Glennwood Fire District pronounced the woman dead on the scene.
Irby said the cause and manner of death is pending an autopsy by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
