The 93 plaintiffs who were not given fentanyl during in-vitro fertilization procedures at Yale University’s fertility clinics have settled their case.
The amount of the settlement is confidential, according to Josh Koskoff of Koskoff Koskoff and Bieder, which represented the plaintiffs.
“Pain is pain and suffering is suffering no matter if you are a man or a woman,” Koskoff said at a press conference Monday at the Omni Hotel in New Haven. “They said to Yale University in this case, enough is enough.”
The women were victims of a nurse who substituted saline for the painkiller fentanyl at Yale’s Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility clinics, first at Long Wharf in New Haven and later in Orange.
“Yale University providers ignored the anguished cries of women undergoing these treatments,” Koskoff said.
“After listening to story after story at some point Yale finally heard your voices,” he told two dozen clients and partners gathered at the press conference.
