YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Youngstown CityScape announced the winners of the annual CityScape Beautification Awards at a ceremony and reception Thursday.
The awards were presented at Concept Studio on Federal Street. There were four categories: Business, Institutional, Community, and Residential.
Business Category winners:
- Broadway Park Retirement Community (Pam Minor)
- Steelite International Headquarters (John Miles)
Institutional Category winners:
- City of Youngstown Street Dept. (Jordan Karim/Tony Armeni)
- Hopewell Theater (Regina Rees)
- Hope for Newport Community Garden (Stuart Smith/Martin Luther Lutheran Church)
Community Category winners:
- Allan Young (Wick Park Neighborhood Association)
Residential Category Winners:
- Sherwood Armor
- Douglass Floyd
- Rose Goodwin
- Andre Lamont-Morgan
- Jonathan Bowers
- Lynn Parker
- John & Lydie Pettway
- Gillian Rath

Youngstown CityScape is a non-profit dedicated to the revitalization of the greater downtown Youngstown area. This was the 18th year of the beautification awards.
“Every year we appreciate the gardening talent, dedication, and positive energy that these award-winning members of our community display,” said Sharon Letson, Executive Director of Youngstown CityScape. “CityScape believes it is important to recognize the effort and pride that people put into their property and community.”
According to a press release, Youngstown CityScape nominations range from multi-million-dollar developments to gardens in residential neighborhoods.
