Adam Sandler Has Acted In A Wide Variety Of Films In His Career

Adam Sandler has made a career out of being the underdog, as he has always acted in films that he himself liked and cared little for accolades and fame throughout his career. That’s why he has acted in films such as Billy Madison, Big Daddy, and others, which have been critically panned but he still holds them dear.

That doesn’t mean Adam Sandler couldn’t take on serious roles when required. After all, fans and critics were shocked by his portrayal in 2002’s Punch-Drunk Love, which blended seriousness and comedy perfectly. Adam Sandler Never Got To Work With Martin Scorsese For An Unfortunate Reason

Adam Sandler has worked with many big names in the world of Hollywood, but Martin Scorsese is not one of them, which fans find shocking. However, there was a time he almost got to work with the legendary director but it never came to fruition.

According to Vulture, Martin Scorsese embarked on the development of a biopic centered around the legendary Rat Pack, with a particular focus on Dean Martin. The project, titled Dino, had Nicholas Pileggi, Scorsese’s frequent collaborator and the screenwriter behind GoodFellas and Casino, working on the script. It was evident that his plan was to bring the Rat Pack to life on the big screen, with Tom Hanks on his radar for the role of Dean Martin.

Variety reported an all-star lineup in consideration, featuring John Travolta as Frank Sinatra, Hugh Grant as Peter Lawford, Adam Sandler as Joey Bishop, and Jim Carrey as Jerry Lewis. While Hanks and Travolta were interested. Unfortunately, the whole project faced a setback when Scorsese secured a deal to direct Gangs of New York. This commitment led to Dino taking a backseat, with plans to revisit the Rat Pack biopic after completing Gangs of New York.

However, production delays persisted, and Scorsese’s attention shifted to other projects. Notably, he returned to Rat Pack territory but with a focus on a Sinatra-centric biopic, planning to cast Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro as older versions of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, respectively. This change in plans more or less confirmed that the director had no plans on using Tom Hanks and Adam Sandler for the project. Regardless, Adam Sandler has since moved on from this whole project and that’s what matters.
