Costco’s $1.50 hot dog and soda combo is one of the most popular items in its food court. The wholesaler chain has offered the deal since 1985, but could the price of the beloved combo change?

When Bloomberg asked Costco’s outgoing CFO Richard Galanti about the fate of the hot dog deal, he gave a vague answer.

“It’s probably safe for a while,” he responded.

David Fuller, assistant vice president of publishing at Costco, wrote in the store’s magazine in 2009 explaining that the hot dog combo’s $1.50 price was a way to show how the “business can operate on a fair markup and still pay all of its bills,” reports NJ.com.

There may be more changes coming to who can enjoy Costco’s famous hot dog and soda combo. Patrons may soon need membership cards to make purchases from the food court. Multiple reports say the changes will be effective on April 8.

Costco memberships start at $60 a year.
