Utah hockey fans got a first look at their new team on Wednesday.

The former Arizona Coyotes players, coach Andre Tourigny and GM Bill Armstrong were introduced to a packed and excited Delta Center crowd in Salt Lake City.

“Utah, you touched my heart today,” Armstrong said of the crowd support, via KSL Sports. “You have no idea what that means to us. We will pay you back for all of that emotion you gave us today.”

“We can’t wait to feed off your energy next year,” Tourigny added.

The players then all had a chance to introduce themselves and their preferred nicknames one by one.

One of the loudest roars came when Liam O’Brien introduced himself as “Spicy Tuna,” per the Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli.

The hockey players were not the only athletes to be in the building on Wednesday, as some of the Utah Jazz players were also in attendance, including star forward Lauri Markkenen.

Markkenen was particularly fired up when fellow Finnish countryman Jusso Valimaki introduced himself on the mic.

The official name of the team is still being decided.

New owner Ryan Smith said Tuesday that the team will use a March Madness-style bracket to determine a name and share some uniform similarities with the NBA’s Jazz.

Several names have been rumoured, including Blizzard, Venom, Black Diamonds, Yetis and Golden Eagles.
