Members of the Limassol Police Department proceeded today to arrest a wanted burglar, after being notified that he had enter a dwelling to steal.
According to Policearound 17:00 this afternoon, tenant of a house in the area of ​​Agios Ioannis noticed an unknown person inside his home and immediately called for help while also informing the Police.
The man recognized by the locals that he is a wanted person whose photo was published by the Police and then they pursued him.
Immediately patrols from the Limassol Police Department arrived in the area and at the suggestion of the citizens, the 23-year-old wanted man was located in the yard of a nearby residence.
The members of the Force put handcuffs on the wanted young man since charges are pending three arrest warrants for cases of burglary and theft of property.
It should be noted that from the house that the 23-year-old entered, a watch was stolen which was detected. During a physical check, a small amount of drugs (crystal meth) was found in the suspect’s possession.
The 23-year-old was taken to the offices of the TAE Limassol for questioning while tomorrow he is expected to be brought before the District Court of Limassol for his detention request. It should be noted that the 23-year-old was wanted for three burglaries and thefts committed in the last months in Limassol.
Residents of the area after today’s incident, contacted Philenews, saying they do not feel safe. As they point out, burglaries and thefts in their neighborhood are frequent, while dozens of foreigners live in some houses.
