THE ONE Show’s Alex Jones made a hilarious blunder on last night’s episode of the BBC when she admitted she “forgot” she was one air.
Alex, 46, was presenting the show with former footballer Jermaine Jenas, 40, but left her co-star stunned with her admission close to the end of the episode.
On Monday night’s episode of The One Show, the hosts were joined by a number of guests, including chef Rick Stein, who chatted to them about his new BBC Two series, ‘Rick Stein’s Food Stories’.
Also in the studio were the stars of ‘Kin’, Emmett J Scanlan and Aidan Gillen, talking all about the Irish crime drama series.
The latter part of the episode turned its focus to women’s football.
Alex had stepped away to let Alex Scott and Jermaine Jenas discuss the quarter final draw for the FA Cup.
As fans may well know, the Welsh presenter’s favourite topic is football, and she became so immersed in watching the draw that she’d forgotten she was on air.
I forgot I was on the television! I had clocked off!

When it was time for her to rejoin them in front of the camera, Alex was completely lost in thought and Jermaine had to call her over.
“Come on you, come and join us,” he called over playfully.
Alex quickly hurried back on set and admitted her hilarious blunder.
“Do you know what, right? I was watching you over there. I forgot I was on the television!” she exclaimed.
“Did you?” Jermaine asked, stunned.
“I had clocked off!” Alex admitted.
Joking about why Alex had been distracted, Jermaine said: “It’s your favourite subject, that’s why! [She] loves football, loves it.”
