ITV could be set for a scheduling problem should Manchester City and Manchester United reach the FA Cup final.

The broadcaster is set to show the tournament’s final on May 25.

Both Manchester clubs are in the semi-finals, having won their quarter-final ties.

Man United overcame Liverpool 4-3 in a dramatic clash against Liverpool.

While Man City booked their spot with a routine 2-0 win over Newcastle.

However, the city rivals avoided each other in the semi-final draw as Man United were drawn against Coventry City.

Man City will face Chelsea in the other match at Wembley Stadium.

Should they both win their ties, then it would set up a repeat of last season’s FA Cup final, which the Citizens won.

The FA Cup final has typically kicked off at 5.30pm but last year it was moved to 3pm after concerns that this would cause issues for fans.

It would be expected that the kick-off time would once again be moved should both sides make the final.

This is where the issue would arise for ITV as it also has the rights to show the European Rugby Champions Cup final.

That final is set to be played on the same day as the FA Cup final.

However, its kick-off time is scheduled for 2.45pm at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in North London.

This would cause a scheduling problem for ITV as they would not be able to show both games at the same time.

The Times has reported that European Rugby Ltd has no flexibility to move the Champions Cup start time.

So this could mean that a new kick-off time has to be figured out for the FA Cup final.

ITV will have a much easier job should either Coventry or Chelsea win their semi-final ties.
