Cherry blossom season may be behind us, but Karlie Kloss kept the look alive last night at the 2024 Met Gala.

The model ascended the Met steps in a pale pink, body-hugging Swarovski dress coated in 180,000 rose-colored crystals, which a team of seven created over 225 hours. Affixed with a corset of 3D flowers, the gown featured falling petals—a reminder of the fleeting cherry blossom season. Kloss’s gilded flowers were attached to a crystal-studded branch that wrapped around her neck and shoulders. The gilded garlands were embellished with 60,500 crystals and made over 1,600 hours by five craftspeople.

Swarovski’s creative director Giovanna Engelbert brought a supermodel crew along with her to the 2024 Met Gala. Irina Shayk channeled air in a crystal netted dress made of 84,000 clear crystals. Imaan Hammam joined in a yellow two-piece skirt set, and Anok Yai wore a blue gradient bodysuit.
