Motorcyclist killed in fatal crash with teen driver in Wallingford

A motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a motor vehicle in Wallingford on Sunday night, police said.

Officers responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of Masonic, North Turnpike and River Road around 9:23 p.m. on Sunday, according to the Wallingford Police Department.

A 2008 Honda Civic and a Honda Grom motorcycle were involved in the crash, police said. The motorcyclist, 25-year-old Anthony Charlton of Wallingford, died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the crash, according to police.

A preliminary investigation found that Charlton was riding his motorcycle northbound on Masonic onto the North Turnpike, police said. The Civic driver, a 17-year-old girl, was traveling southbound on South Turnpike Road making a left onto the Meritt Parkway when the collision occurred, according to police.

The teen girl remained on the scene and was cooperative with officers, police said.

The crash remains under investigation, according to police.
