MUSKEGON, MI – Investigators are looking into what caused a patch of woods in the Muskegon area to catch fire.
Crews responded to a 10:23 p.m. report of a fire Wednesday, May 24, in the woods in the 2200 block of Black Creek Road, Muskegon firefighters said.
Firefighters were told flames were spotted within 15 feet of a structure.
Crews from Muskegon, Fruitport, Muskegon Heights, and Muskegon Township fire departments made an aggressive attack on the fire and contained the wind-driven flames to less than four acres.
The cause and origin of the fire are still under investigation.
No injuries were reported in the blaze.
