Poorly thought out ‘No Mow May’ in Cleveland Heights led to unsafe conditions on streets

What was the city of Cleveland Heights thinking allowing the grass to grow over 3 feet on a median strip of a divided road with lots of traffic?

Fox News 8 featured similar safety complaints from residents: You can’t see kids on the side walk when you are backing out of a driveway if a house next door has tall grass. The mayor and council were aware of the dangers of their lovely but ill conceived “No Mow May” idea to help pollinators. They did not pay attention or respond to these complaints as stated in the news segment.

Did it take an accident — my crashing into a car because visibility was so poor — to finally get the mowers to cut the grass on the median?
