The Perfect Note, a popular live music and supper club in Hoover, will close its 1845 Montgomery Hwy location on June 15.

Tremayne Thompson, the restaurant and club owner, went live from The Perfect Note’s Facebook page with a 45-minute video on March 21 announcing the plans to move.

Thompson said he was notified Feb. 13 that The Plaza at Riverchase was changing ownership.

“You know whenever there is new leadership or new people in place, there’s bound to be change,” Thompson said. He said he reached out to the new owners and didn’t hear back for a period before finally receiving a response.

Thompson said they were told The Plaza at Riverchase was “going in a different direction” and that Perfect Note did not have a “retail model” that would fit it.

Thompson also noted that they have 90 days to officially leave the Hoover location.

The property managers of The Plaza at Riverchase could not be reached for comment.

“We’re celebrating,” he said. “Because this is a new chapter for us. Perfect Note will always be here. We just need to know where God is transitioning us to now.”

The video had more than 5,000 views and received more than 350 comments, with people wishing them well with their next venture.

User Charlie Dunning commented, “You guys will be successful no matter where you go. Perfect business model produces a perfect business. Can’t wait to see your next chapter.”

The Perfect Note originally opened the Hoover location in 2015. The music venue is known for being a hub for local performers to sing with a live band, while people have dinner. The business currently has three locations. The other locations are located in Birmingham City Hall and serves as an express cafe, and another location in Atlanta.

AL.com reported in 2016 Tremayne and Karen Thompson, the Helena couple who opened the Perfect Note, are concert promoters who got their start in Illinois before spending more than a year transforming an old Piccadilly Cafeteria into the entertainment venue of their dreams.

“We’ve put our life, savings and everything into this business,” Tremayne said in 2016.

The space has 14,000 square feet, with a 180-seat dining room, a 25-seat bar and a five-seat lounge. It includes a lobby with a box office and reception area, a huge kitchen, a large stage, dressing rooms for artists, and a load-in zone for equipment.
