The Toronto Blue Jays will get two key pitchers back on Tuesday in advance of their game against the New York Yankees.

Right-handers Jordan Romano (right elbow inflammation) and Erik Swanson (right forearm inflammation) were reinstated from the 15-day injured list and will be active for Tuesday’s game.

In corresponding moves, right-hander Nate Pearson was optioned to triple-A Buffalo and righty Mitch White was designated for assignment.

Catcher Danny Jansen also returns to the lineup for the first time since fracturing the pisiform bone in his right wrist on March 13. Jansen will return wearing a new guard on his right hand, described by manager John Schneider as “a little superhero-ish,” that will be worn all game, with the padding shifted to the appropriate areas depending on whether he’s at the plate or behind it.
