GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio — Two men were killed Tuesday evening in a shooting at an apartment complex, police say.
Rayshawn Akins Smith, 23, of Garfield Heights, died in the parking lot of the apartment complex at 12115 Valley Lane Drive, according to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office. Walter Jackson, 26, of Cleveland, was pronounced dead at Cleveland Clinic Marymount Hospital in Garfield Heights.
Police have released few details but say the department received reports of at least 10 gunshots being fired in the area at about 6 p.m. Tuesday. Officers found both victims unresponsive in the parking lot.
Garfield Heights detectives and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation are investigating the shooting.
