In a recent episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored, the host put both Colbert and Oliver under fire, especially Oliver since he made a whole skit about Middleton’s inactivity, where he even went so far as claiming that she might be dead before her condition was revealed.
Morgan, along with Megyn Kelly, gave him an earful while making them aware of their actions, especially when everyone at least knew she had a medical condition she was going through. Kelly said:
“Those two in particular do everything for clicks. They’re not based in truth. At one point, they just wanted to make people laugh. Now, they just want applause for saying the right incendiary thing about the Republicans or the Royals, or whatever their latest target is.”
Morgan added, talking about Oliver in particular, saying:
“Again, he didn’t know how bad it was, but he knew she’d had major surgery, It seems to me that you have to have some lines in this, even if you’re comedic.”
Colbert has since sincerely apologized for his mishandling of sharing and opining on the situation without having a full grasp of the situation. And despite Kimmel being the first among a few to advise the public not to speculate on the Princess’ condition, Kelly seemed to have missed to mention this, but the internet remembered and praised him for his responsible handling of the situation.
