Suspect sought after Butler County victim followed home from bar, shot

Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect in a Butler County shooting over the weekend.

Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched Saturday night to the Greenville Hospital emergency room on a report of a person shot.

The victim was leaving Floyds Ol Skool Bar and Lounge on Alabama Highway 106 in Georgiana when, about midnight, the suspect backed into an empty parking space Bennett’s Bargains.

As the victim left, the suspect followed. Once the victim arrived home on Stinson Road, the suspect fired a shot, injuring the victim.

The unknown suspect faces an attempted murder charge, which is a Class A felony.

Investigators are asking for help locating the suspect vehicle and identifying the driver of the vehicle. A cash reward is offered.
