Today Thursday (28/3) the shocking case of abuse of the 11-year-old girl, who fell victim to the sick appetites of her 60-year-old neighbor, came to an end.
The Permanent Criminal Court of Limassol imposed on the defendant an immediate sentence of imprisonment of seven years in the first category and four years in the second category, with the sentences running concurrently. The 60-year-old was found guilty on two charges of sexual abuse under the age of 13.
The nightmares she lived through at the hands of her 60-year-old neighbor who sexually abused her, the now 16-year-old victim found the courage to testify under oath, convincing the Limassol Criminal Court of the defendant’s guilt. The then 11-year-old went to her neighbor’s house to look after her while her parents were away, and he sexually abused her by taking advantage of her innocence.
The hearing of the shocking case was held in front of the Permanent Criminal Court of Limassol behind closed doors, with the accused denying guilt. The Criminal Court in a previous proceeding, found the 60-year-old Bulgarian guilty, on two charges involving sexual abuse offenses under the age of 13.
As Philenews had written in previous publications, the 16-year-old broke her silence and confided in Social Welfare Services officials, what she experienced at the tender age of 11. After specific actions by the YKE, the 16-year-old gave a videotaped statement, describing various incidents of sexual abuse with her neighbor as the perpetrator.
These are two incidents of abuse which according to her complaint, took place in 2018 when she lived with her family in a residence in Limassol.
One took place at the 60-year-old’s residence when his family was away. The accused tried to sexually abuse the minor while in the second case he showed her his genitals.
In her complaint, the minor stated that she had not spoken to anyone, as she was afraid, while at the time she was unaware of what exactly was happening.
