Vince McMahon was leading a fairly perfect life after having co-founded the modern WWE with his wife, Linda McMahon. But then everything came crashing down on him with a series of serious allegations from a former employee that the 78-year-old McMahon had to resign from his position as the CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment.

Yet, what’s worse is that his sad story didn’t even end with this sacrifice. According to recent reports, McMahon is said to have reportedly joined the list of all those celebrities whose names are banned from being spoken on the promotion’s programming — something that Brock Lesnar’s wife is very well aware of, being a member of it herself.

Vince McMahon’s Name Reportedly Banned From WWE TV

While Vince McMahon may have indeed contributed a major hand behind the establishment of the modern World Wrestling Entertainment, his reign has seemingly come to an end. This comes after reports claiming that even his name has been banned from being spoken on the wrestling promotion’s television events and programs.

Recently, CM Punk returned to WWE Raw to engage in a war of words with Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins. But while the audience was initially enjoying the segment, one particular had them holding their breaths: The time when Punk made a reference to the former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment while asking Drew McIntyre “who chose” him as the Chosen One.

Ever since McMahon was dismissed from the board of World Wrestling Entertainment, there were hardly ever mentions of his name during the events and on television. This is why many viewers and fans were wondering if this reference to him by CM Punk was also a scripted part of the event. However, Dave Meltzer tends to reveal otherwise.

On Wrestling Observer Radio (via WrestleTalk), Meltzer brought up this very segment and explained that, unlike most of the other stuff on the show, this specific segment was “not scripted word for word” and that “they let the guys have free reign.” As for the McMahon reference making people, it wasn’t such a good idea, Meltzer revealed:

“One of the things is that McMahon’s name is not allowed to be mentioned on the TV, but McIntyre changed focused and never mentioned the name and they got out of it.”

Thus, as it turns out, it seems that Linda McMahon’s husband’s name has indeed been banned from being spoken on the very promotion that the pair co-founded. But that’s not all: Brock Lesnar‘s wife and former Women’s Champion Sable is also a part of the group of celebs who are banned from being discussed during the promotion’s events.

A former Women’s Champion at the World Wrestling Entertainment, Sable has long been a member of the group of celebrities whose names can not be uttered onscreen, although the reason behind the same is still unclear why. As Torrie Wilson shared in a virtual signing event hosted by The Asylum Wrestling Store (via Facebook):

“You’re not even allowed to mention her name on… she was — I mentioned her name in my Hall of Fame speech and right before, they told me, ‘Oh, by the way, you’re not allowed to mention her name.’”

What’s more, this is the fact that this very former Women’s Champion’s husband Lesnar was actually one of the names alleged in the s-xual abuse case by former World Wrestling Entertainment employee Janel Grant. According to reports from The Wall Street Journal, Lesnar was reportedly one of the people who took advantage of Grant s-xually.

Moreover, while these allegations in the lawsuit against McMahon, among others, resulted in McMahon’s firing from the board, it also affected Lesnar as he was reportedly removed from the Royal Rumble because of the same. As for his return back to the ring, nothing can be said for sure for now.
