The DEB team’s flight at the 2023 Ice Hockey World Championships continues! The team of national coach Harold Kreis has reached the semi-finals of the World Cup and meets the USA on Saturday 27 May at the Nokia Arena in Tampere, Finland.
Germany beat Switzerland 3-1 in the quarter-finals of the Ice Hockey World Championships. The DEB team is continuing its furious run at the Ice Hockey World Cup – in the last five World Cup games, the German national ice hockey team left the ice as the winner. Germany put in a passionate and disciplined performance in the quarter-finals, finishing fourth in preliminary round Group A and deservedly knocking out Switzerland, who finished first in the preliminary round. By reaching the semi-finals, the DEB team also qualified for the upcoming Olympic Games.
With the USA, a difficult opponent awaits Germany in the semi-finals. The USA secured first place in Group A and defeated the DEB team 3-2 on the 2nd day of the preliminary round. In the quarter-final duel against the Czech Republic, the Americans showed no weaknesses: the USA defeated the Czech Republic 3-0. Will Germany get revenge in the semi-finals and thus make it into the final of the 2023 Ice Hockey World Cup?
