Who did Ty choose?
Megan was definitely the favorite going into the finale of Farmer Wants A Wife season 2 US, but in a shocking twist, Ty chose not to be with either her or Melody.
“After the family visits and experience and you in New York, it’s brought up a lot of questions, concerns of you being part of the city. Could you 100 percent fully commit yourself to being here?” he told Melody. “I want somebody that just fully wants to live and be in this place and that falls completely in love with it. For us to move forward, I shouldn’t have any concerns,” adding: “I don’t think that I should move forward. It’s a hard thing to do but it’s the right thing to do.”
Then when he spoke with Megan, he admitted they’d formed a strong connection, but it was more based on friendship (a term he later retracted). The main reason was that, as a father, he didn’t want many more children.
“Through this, there’s part of me that thought coming into this, I was open to children. But for me, to be honest, I’ve learned through it that I’m not 100 percent there. For me knowing that I don’t want to have kids, I don’t think I should be in a place where I should keep you from having them,” he explained. “Also, it’s something with that connection that we’ve got and for me, it’s such a strong connection that it’s been a that it’s a friendship connection. I’m just not 100 percent there that you’re my forever person.”
He later added: “I knew that neither one of them was my forever person,” Ty then told the cameras. “And I had to be real with myself.”
Viewers were pretty displeased with this result. Taking to Reddit, they accused the show’s producers of wasting everyone’s time. “Ty should have never been casted on this show wtf,” wrote one. Another observed: “I saw on Melody’s IG story she was with Ty last night in Nashville but she has since deleted it… maybe she did that after their scenes came out and didn’t want the bad clout of associating with him? Now she has a story with Megan where they talk about Ty… I find the social media fame chasing interesting to say the least.”
Another commented: “The casting directors should have found out that Ty didn’t want kids before sending Meghan to be manipulated and strung along,” to which another agreed: “It was a total waste of everyone’s time: Ty’s, the girls’, the producers’, and ours, the viewers.”
