Radiologists are accusing everyone, including their colleagues of other specialists, and are denouncing the Health Insurance Agency (HIA). Furthermore, they have already sent letters requesting the intervention of the House Health Committee, informing the Minister of Health about the huge number of radiological diagnostic tests carried out daily under the General Health System (GESY).
They claim that the number of referrals issued by doctors of various specialties is leading them to financial ruin and demand that the HIA take action.
For its part, HIA seems to recognize the problem and an investigation is underway into the referrals issued by doctors of three specialties for the performance of MRIs and angiograms on their patients.
In fact, the process has been completed for about 20 doctors, some of whom have already been asked to provide answers.
