The artistic intervention that transformed him roundabout in Tala community of Paphos leading to the Monastery of Agios Neophytos and the luxurious Leptos Kamares Village in a work of art, is now complete.
The water, which is the main component of the artistic creation, now flows in the space, creating an enchanting scene, especially during the evening hours, with the lighting that has been installed and the sound of the water flowing from above falling into the tank in the stillness of the night .
The impressive finished result has been visited and admired in recent days and nights, both by residents of Tala and the wider area, as well as Paphos in general. It is an initiative of the Talas Community Council and the Leptos Group, which sponsored the project and which was created by the visual artist Iota Ioannidou.
Now, a simple road junction has essentially been transformed into a work of art, with the main characteristic being the liquid element that sends the message of its traditional connection to the area and to the everyday life of its people.
A bronze sculpture depicting a daughter surrounded by white doves, as well as other doves dominating at different points of the work, constitutes the impressive effect that is now completed these days with the connection of water to its infrastructure.
Central idea of the whole project, the president of K.S. declares to “F”. Talas, Areti Pieridou, is to highlight the connection between man and nature. The roundabout of Tala, one of the busiest points of the community due to its use to go to the famous Monastery of Agios Neophytos, but also to a luxurious place like Leptos Kamares Village, he pointed out, is now a point of reference and creates an impressive scene.
The idea of the creator, with which we completely agreed as a community principle, said Areti Pieridou, was to highlight the close connection of the people of Tala with nature and with the liquid element. In particular, we wanted to highlight the issue of the many ponds that exist in Tala and the water that has nowadays dried up from most of them.
